Fiji Airways has received yet another feather in its cap. In the latest Skytrax World Airline Rankings of 2017, the national carrier has ranked 75 of all the airlines in the world. Last year their position was 91.

This is a massive leap and a great achievement for the entire Fiji Airways team and any praises coming their way are well deserved.

These awards are considered as the Oscars of the aviation industry and a big event was organised in Paris at the Paris Air Show where awards were presented.

Travellers across the globe take part each year in the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the winners.

For Fiji Airways to beat out hundreds of other international airlines to be featured in the top 100 and to move up 16 places is a big deal.

And, such massive improvements in Fiji Airways’ service improvement can be attributed to the major service delivery programme launched by managing director/CEO Andre Viljoen.

Additionally, every employee of the company has a stake in their profits- the more profits Fiji Airways makes, the more money every individual employee receives. This set-up has proved very, very beneficial for the national carrier.

Every employee has a personal stake, they go out of their way to provide the best possible service knowing that there are financial rewards at the end of every financial year.

More companies need to learn from this experience. This type of worker-employer partnership fosters a relationship that encourages workers to do their best. The relationship makes every employee feel personally responsible for their company.

Fiji Airways is also well on the way towards achieving the goal of a coveted 4-Star SKYTRAX rating, gaining recognition and accolades step by step.

A few weeks ago Fiji Airways won Australasia’s Leading Inflight Magazine Award at the World Travel Awards.

The company and its employees are definitely moving the needle in the right direction with their service offering to their customers.

Anyone who has recently travelled would have experienced further improved customer experience and meals.

Business Class Menus

Now designed by Fiji Airways’ own Executive Chef Joel Crompton in partnership with Guest Celebrity Chefs.

In this cycle (July-September), Award-winning Richard Cross is collaborating with Fiji Airways on iconic dishes for the airline.

Featured during alternating Business Class meal cycles are also the two signature cocktails Paradise by the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa, and Laucala Sour by Laucala Island.  For the first time, a signature mocktail is also offered as part of the Business Class experience.

Continual innovation in all areas of the airline has kept our national carrier flying higher in a highly competitive environment.

And, be on the lookout for another major announcement today, which will change the look of the Fijian aviation industry.
