Katie Brightwell broke the AHSAA career goals record on Tuesday as she led top-ranked Class 1A/3A St. James to a 10-0 home win over Alabama Christian. Brightwell poured in 6 goals to put her St. James total at 234 – 2 more than the previous record set by Jordan Richmond of Holy Spirit Catholic from 2012-16. The senior entered the season with 188 goals.

“It was truly an awesome evening celebrating our senior girls along with KB breaking the AHSAA goal record,” said St. James coach Charles Brightwell following Senior Night. “I can’t be more proud of this amazing group of girls as they continue their journey heading into the playoffs.”

Brightwell also had an assist on her record-breaking night.

Natalie Barton, KK Corley, Molly Phillips and Mary Grace Hixon also scored goals for the Trojans. Hope McCain had 3 assists and Hixon had 2. Corley, Barton, Amolika Mishra and Katie Irving also had assists.

The Trojans improved to 11-1-1 on the year. St. James will play at Trinity on Friday.

HUNTSVILLE/TENNESSEE VALLEY

Westminster Christian 6, St. John Paul II 1

The top-ranked Class 4A Wildcats kept their Area 8 record unblemished on Tuesday with the win on the road. Defending state champion Westminster Christian improved to 12-1-1 on the season.

Jasmine Feld scored a pair of goals in the win. Westminster also got goals from Annie Collier, Caleigh Lewis, Ella Henshaw and Alondra Piers.

AnnaLi Weekley finished with 2 assists. Feld, Lewis and Shelby Layne also had assists in the win.

Westminster outshot the Falcons 36-10. Goalkeeper Piper Blazier saved 3 shots and Jamiah Maxtion saved 6. The Westminster defense registered 36 recoveries, including 13 from Lewis.

St. John Paul II (8-5) took an early 1-0 lead when Alexandara Jodon scored on a shot from deep in the corner just out of the Blazier’s reach.

The Falcons’ lead was short-lived as Henshaw tied the game with a goal from 25 yards out a minute later. Feld’s two goals and Lewis’ goal pushed Westminster’s lead to 4-1 by the end of the first half.

In the second half, Collier scored with an assist from Feld and Piers’ unassisted goal completed the scoring.

Westminster will finish Area 8 play on Monday at home against No. 7 Priceville.

BIRMINGHAM

Briarwood Christian 10, Pelham 0

The Class 6A No. 8 Lions blanked Area 8 foe Pelham on the road on Tuesday as junior Taylor Leib registered a hat trick.

Briarwood Christian also got a pair of goals from junior Brooklyn Barnett, senior Erin Gilbert and freshman Taylor Mathews. Katherine Lloyd, a senior, also scored a goal in the rout.

Pinson Valley 3, Huffman 1

Pinson Valley earned the road win on Wednesday as Gabi Johnson scored a pair of goals.

Madalyne Avilles had a goal and an assist for the winners.

On Thursday, Pinson lost 3-1 at Shades Valley. Avilles scored for Pinson off an assist from Marely Cornelio.

STATEWIDE

Prattville Christian 6, Chilton County 0

Prattville Christian earned its second straight shutout with the home win over Chilton County on Tuesday.

Avery Rogers poured in 5 goals for the Panthers and Kendall Jordan recorded the shutout in goal. Addison Sutton also had a goal and an assist in the win. Ella Pegg had 3 assists for Prattville Christian.

The Panthers improved to 4-9 on the season and will host Holy Spirit on Friday in a Class 1A/3A, Area 4 match.

On Monday, Prattville Christian blanked Percy Julian 10-0 on the road, led by Pegg’s hat trick.

Bella Carothers had 2 goals and 2 assists and Morgan Lisle also scored 2 goals. Prattville Christian also got goals from Kendall Jordan, Eden Alexander and Sutton.

Savannah Lamar had an assist for PCA.

HUNTSVILLE/TENNESSEE VALLEY

Madison Academy 5, Danville 1

Class 3A No. 4 Madison Academy improved to 19-3 on the year, 3-0 in Area 15 on Tuesday with the win at home over Danville.

Sophomore Cat Schreiber earned the win, allowing an earned run on 5 hits with 7 strikeouts and a walk in 7 innings. She also helped herself by going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Mya Western was 1-for-4 with a solo home run for Madison Academy. Emily Burgreen was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs, Evie Stephenson was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Adair Allen went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Memphis Houston was 1-for-3.

On Monday, the Mustangs topped Danville 4-3 in 8 innings in an area road contest.

Schreiber struck out 6 in a 6-hitter, giving up 3 runs – 1 earned – with a walk in 8 innings. Schreiber also helped her cause with a hit in 3 at-bats with an RBI.

Western was 1-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Houston was 2-for-4 with a run scored, Breelyn Kilpatrick went 1-for-3 with a run, Allen was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs and Stephenson was 1-for-4.

Weaver 7, Piedmont 2

The Bearcats answered a 2-run fourth by Class 3A No. 6 Piedmont with 7 runs to earn the win at home on Thursday. Weaver got a home run from Payton Marvesty, a double from McKenna Homesley and Ella Kines.

Kynlee Fulmer earned the win in the circle, giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts and 3 walks in 7 innings.

Alana Cooper, Marvesty and Kaelyn Free had 2 RBIs each for Weaver. Kines also drove in a run.

Savannah Smith took the loss, despite striking out 11 Bearcats. She allowed 7 runs – 2 earned – on 8 hits with a walk in 6 innings.

Smith, Carson Young, Ava Pope, Jaycee Glover, Cadence Buttram and Eliza Mathis all had singles for Piedmont. Pope and Mathis had an RBI each.

Piedmont 13, Walter Wellborn 1

The Class 3A No. 6 Bulldogs rolled over Walter Wellborn at home on Monday. Piedmont pushed across 8 runs in the bottom of the fourth to earn the 5-inning victory and improve to 15-6 on the year.

Cacey Brothers, Ava Pope and Cayla Brothers all had home runs in the win. Cayla Brothers was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBIs, Cacey Brothers went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and Pope was 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

Carson Young (1-for-3, 1 RBI), Savannah Smith (3-for-3, 2 RBIs) and Jaycee Glover (1-for-3) also all had doubles for Piemont.

Smith earned the win in the circle, allowing an earned run on 4 hits with 6 strikeouts in 5 innings.

Cassidy Gray, Jaylyn Chattin, Destiny Benefield and Jordan Hunt had hits for Wellborn. Hunt drove in a run.

Benefield took the loss, allowing 13 earned runs on 15 hits. She struck out 2 in 4 innings.

MOBILE/COASTAL ALABAMA

Orange Beach 4, Hewitt-Trussville 2 (8 innings)

In a battle of top-ranked teams from two different classifications, Orange Beach scored two runs in the eighth inning Thursday and knocked off Hewitt-Trussville on the road.

The Makos (29-0) are No. 1 in Class 4A. Hewitt is No. 1 in Class 7A.

Katie King went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs for Orange Beach. Ava Hodo walked four times. The Makes took the lead for good in the eighth on a Hewitt error and a sacrifice fly by Kaitlynn Robertson.

KG Favors got the win. She went the distance, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. She struck out 6 and walked 3. Hewitt’s Sara Phillips also pitched a complete game, allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 11.

Zaylen Tucker homered for the Huskies. Lexie Kelly drove in the other run with a single.

Orange Beach is ranked No. 6 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Super 25 poll.

Satsuma 5, Fairhope 4

Bralee Byrd doubled in Anna Jo Bonds to knot the game at 4-all with 2 outs in the bottom of the seventh inning and Ella Howell drove in Byrd with a single on the next pitch to give Satsuma the walk-off win over Fairhope at home on Thursday.

Byrd went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs for the Gators. Jaiden Corlett contributed 2 hits in the win.

Madison Sawyer gave up 3 earned run on 10 hits with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks in 7 innings to get the win and push her record to 11-4 on the year.

Class 4A No. 4 Satsuma is 30-7-1 for the season and will play in Dothan in the Houston Academy tournament on Friday.

On Tuesday, the Gators beat Jackson 9-3 on the road as Belle Sheffield improved to 12-2 on the season in the circle. She gave up 3 runs on 5 hits with 6 strikeouts and no walks in 7 innings. She also had a pair of hits for Satsuma.

Sawyer ripped a 3-run home run to put Satsuma up 9-0 in the sixth inning. Her 3 RBIs on the night gave her 100 in her career.

Kaeden Enzor had 3 hits to lead Satsuma at the plate. Presley Willis, Byrd and Corlett had 2 hits each for the Gators.

Baldwin County 4, Foley 0

The Tigers blanked Foley at home on Thursday as Madilyn Byrd was dominant in the circle, striking out 15 with no walks. The junior allowed 5 hits in 7 innings.

Nassar Brooks, Nizeria Riley, Ashlynn Jones and Lauren Jerkins all drove in a run for Baldwin County. Ryann Wallace went 2-for-3 for the Tigers.

Lindsey Lantis took the loss for the Lions, giving up 4 runs – 3 earned – on 8 hits with a strikeout and a walk in 5 innings.

BIRMINGHAM

Helena 5, Oak Mountain 2

The top-ranked Class 6A Huskies won three games and lost 10-0 to 7A No. 1 Hewitt-Trussville.

In the win over Oak Mountain, Madeline Epperson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Sydney Carroll was 1-for-2 with a home run and an RBI.

Alaysha Crews allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts over 7 innings.

Helena also bet American Christian 7-3 with Baylor McCluney going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored. Katie Hopson was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Allie Scott doubled in 2 at-bats with an RBI. Emma Parmley went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Claire Purkey was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Parmley gave up 2 earned runs on 2 hits in 5.2 innings in the circle.

The Huskies also edged 7A No. 6 Vestavia Hills 2-1. Epperson was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Carroll was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Hopson doubled in 3 at-bats.

Crews picked up the win, giving up an earned run on 7 hits with 5 strikeouts in 7 innings.

STATEWIDE

Prattville Christian 16, Pike Road 0

The Panthers blanked Pike Road on Thursday in a 3-inning game at Prattville Christian. Laura Beth NeSmith pitched a no-hitter with 4 strikeouts.

All of the Panthers’ starters had at least 1 hit, with Kandice Crosby smacking 2 home runs with 4 RBIs. Saniyah Weaver had 3 hits and 5 RBIs. Chloe Hollon had 2 hits and 2 RBIs and Sara Payton Schmidt had a pair of hits.

PCA improved to 18-4 on the year while Pike Road is 22-13.

On Monday, Prattville Christian topped Tallassee 5-3 at home behind a complete-game performance by Alivia Messick in the circle. Messick struck out 10 and allowed 2 hits over 7 innings for Prattville Christian.

Peyton Thrash went 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs for the winners. Hollon and Crosby were both 2-for-3 with an RBI each.

Prattville Christian will host a round-robin tournament on Saturday. The Panthers will play Maplesville at 9 a.m., Handley at 3 p.m. and T.R. Miller at 7.

Pike Road 16, Dale County 9

Haley Melton notched her eighth win of the season, allowing 8 runs – 4 earned – as Pike Road beat Dale County in Midland City on Tuesday. Melton struck out 3 and walked 1 in 4 innings.

Abby Olesen pitched the final 3 innings, allowing an earned run with a strikeout and 4 walks.

Addison Belyeu smacked a bases-loaded 2-run single in the first inning with Mary Hayden Hargrove driving in Belyeu on a ground out.

Ella Brooke Barefield stroked a grand slam for Dale County in the bottom of the second inning.

Belyeu and Kelsey Williams had doubles in the third, with Belyeu driving in a run and Williams bringing in 2 more. Ameria Anderson had a 2-run home run and a triple for the winners. Belyeu also had a 2-run homer and finished with 5 RBIs. Haley Melton had a pair of hits for the Patriots.

Brantley 12, Red Level 0

The Bulldogs won the Class 1A, Area 3 regular-season title with the shutout at Red Level on Tuesday. Anna Parker Little picked up the win, striking out 6 in 5 innings. She helped herself at the plate with a hit.

Markay Kilcrease had 3 hits with 3 RBIs and 2 runs for Brantley. Mary Driggers had a pair of hits, including a solo home run, with 3 RBIs. Alex Grimes had 2 hits with a double and 2 RBIs. Savannah Nichols had 2 hits with 2 RBIs and Kaitlyn Piggott had a pair of hits.

Second-ranked Brantley improved to 16-12 on the season.

Oak Mountain wins Shelby County Championship

Oak Mountain edged Chelsea 158-152 for the Shelby County Championship on Wednesday at Pelham High School. Briarwood Christian finished third with 121.5 points.

Thompson took fourth with 83.5 points, followed by Pelham (70), Westminster-Oak Mountain (40), Helena (31), Indian Springs (13), Vincent (6) and Shelby County (3).

Samantha Bennett of Oak Mountain won the 100- and 200-meter dashes in 12.44 and 25.69, respectively. Ty Cason of Chelsea won the 400-meter dash, 800-meter run and the 3200-meter run in 57.20, 2:14.98 and 11:45.70. Addison Foster of Chelsea took the 100- and 300-meter hurdles in 15.58 and 48.63.

Center Point rolls to Jefferson County Championship

Center Point piled up 141 points to earn the Jefferson County Championship at Center Point on Thursday. Minor finished second with 95 points and Clay-Chalkville was third with 83.

McAdory finished four with 75 points, followed by Pleasant Grove (75), Gardendale (58), Fultondale (52), Pinson Valley (31), Shades Valley (24), Mortimer Jordan (18), Corner (8), Oak Grove (2) and Hueytown (1).

Cayson Jordan of Pleasant Grove won the 200- and 400-meter dashes in 25.95 and 1:00.44, respectively. Zarya Jackson of Pinson Valley won the 800-meter run in 2:32.80 and the 1600-meter run in 5:41.66.

Fairview takes Cullman County Championship

Fairview nipped Cold Springs to win the Cullman County Championship on Monday, outpointing the Eagles 161.5-161. Holly Pond finished third with 148.5 points.

Good Hope finished fourth with 76 points, followed by Hanceville (58), Vinemont (54), West Point (45) and Harmony School (3).

Allyson Hill of Fairview won the long jump (15-01.75), the triple jump (34-09.75), the 100-meter hurdles (17.11) and the 300-meter hurdles (51.72).

Macie Huffstutler of Cold Springs won the 400-meter dash, the 800-meter run and the 1600-meter run. She was second in the 200-meter dash and third in the pole vault. The sophomore ran the 400 in 1:04.57, the 800 in 2:41.67 and the 1600 in 5:58.88.

Millie McBee of Holly Pond won the 100- and 200-meter dashes, in 14.40 and 28.96, respectively. Kabri Redding of Fairview won the shot put at 33-10.50 and the discus throw at 118-09.50.

The top-ranked Patriots broke a 3-all tie with 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take Game 1 of the Class 7A, Area 8 series against No. 9 James Clemens at home on Thursday.

Both teams have clinched playoff berths atop the area and are playing for first-round home field advantage. Game 2 is set for 1 p.m. on Friday at 1 p.m. with the third game scheduled for 3:30.

James Clemens (27-9) scored a run in the top of the first and city rival Bob Jones (33-6) scored 2 in the bottom of the inning. The Jets went up 3-2 with a pair of runs in the third before the Patriots tied it in the bottom of the fifth.

Bob Jones had 8 hits on the day – 6 for extra bases. The Patriots got home runs from Jacob Pearl, Braden Booth and Vincent Howald and doubles from Booth, Zack Johnson and Robert Chatmon.

Pearl, Booth, Johnson and Reece Cato all had single RBIs in the win while Howald drove in 2 runs.

Booth also earned the win on the mound, giving up 4 earned runs on 6 hits with 4 strikeouts and 7 walks in 7 innings.

Westminster Christian 11, Ardmore 5

Fifth-ranked Class 4A Westminster Christian beat 5A Ardmore at home on Monday in the next-to-last regular season game of the season.

The Wildcats were led at the plate by Lawson Collier, who was 2-for-3, Sean Lapinskes, 2-for-4, Riley Friend, 2-for-4, and Joshua Goode, who was 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs.

Ardmore (13-14) grabbed a 5-2 lead in the second inning on base hits from Skyler Jean, Chase Embrey, a double from Seth Frame and a single from Caden Bailes. The Tigers’ second-inning surge could have been bigger, but Frame was cut down at the plate by a throw from Collier to catcher Goode to end the inning.

Westminster (20-6) wasted no time taking the lead in the bottom of the second after Trey Perkins lined out to first, Nolan Walker was hit by a pitch and moved to second after Jackson Lange walked. Collier’s single to left loaded the bases for Lapinskes, whose fielder’s choice drove in Walker cutting the lead to 5-3. Friend drove in Lange and Collier with a single to left to knot the score at 5 and moving Lapinskes to third. After Joshua Goode walked to load the bases, Caleb Goode’s hit gave the Wildcats a 6-5 lead with a sacrifice fly.

The Wildcats’ relief pitching from Collier, Caleb Goode and Lapinskes blanked Ardmore over the final four innings, allowing four hits.

Westminster increased its lead with 2 runs in the third, another in the fourth and 2 in the sixth.

Madison County 7, Scottsboro 4

The Tigers snapped a three-game losing streak with the win over Scottsboro on Monday. Madison County improved to 24-8 on the season.

Memphis Scott led the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs. Riley Tipton was 1-for-2 with a homer and an RBI. Madison County also got singles from Jake Thornton and Connor Drake.

Starting pitcher Nick Sharp also had an RBI. He gave up 4 earned runs on 3 hits with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts in 2 innings. Chris Fearnside worked the next 2 innings to pick up the win, allowing no runs or hits with 4 strikeouts and a walk. Keigan McClure struck out 2 and walked 1 with 2 hits in 2 scoreless innings and Drake finished the game with a strikeout and a hit in 1 inning.

Matthew Kern took the loss for Scottsboro, allowing 6 earned runs on 5 hits with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts in 3.2 innings.

The Senators jumped to a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first and cruised past Albertville in a Class 7A, Area 7 game at home on Tuesday. Sparkman scored 3 in the fourth after the Aggies scored what proved to be their only win in the top of the inning. The Senators tacked on 2 more to end the game in the fifth.

Amaree Jabbar was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run in the win. Will Peccia went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Tre Aguon went 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs and a pair of runs.

BIRMINGHAM

Homewood 13, Ramsay 3

The 10th-ranked Patriots closed out the regular season at 20-10 with the home win over Ramsay on Monday.

Coastal Alabama North commitment Jeremiah Gary had an inside-the-park home run and a double with 4 RBIs for Homewood. Sophomore Auburn commitment Levi Nickoli had a triple and an RBI.

The Patriots travel to No. 1 Hartselle to open the Class 6A playoffs with a double-header set for 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Calera 8, Jemison 7 (8 innings)

The Eagles won three games this week, including a pair at home over Jemison on Tuesday.

In the 8-7 win, Zach Simpson went 1-for-4 for Calera with a run scored and an RBI. Will Harrison was 1-for-2 and Aspen Long drove in 2 runs.

Tavis Hatch and Dalton Ash pitched 4 innings each for the winners. Hatch struck out 2 Jemison batters while Ash struck out 6 and allowed an earned run.

On Monday, Calera beat Jemison 13-2 as Harrison was 3-for-4 with an RBI. DJ White was 1-for-2 with an RBI and 3 runs scored. Tyde Harrison was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Long went 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Harrison struck out 3 in 3 innings and Brodie Dennis struck out 5 in 2 innings.

Also on Monday, the Eagles topped Montevallo 2-1 as Conner Mosley struck out 10 and gave up 3 hits in 7 innings. Aiden Agee struck out 3 and gave up a hit in 2 innings.

Class 7A No. 6 Baker scored 3 runs in the first, a single run in the third and blew the game open with 5 runs on the bottom of the fourth.

Ethan Santos and Micah Cornelius each had 3 hits and Cornelius drove in 3 runs. Camden Payne homered.

Bryant Durbin allowed 2 hits and struck out 6 in 4 innings. Payne pitched the final inning.

The Hornets improved to 25-5.

Fairhope 7-14, Foley 3-0

Fairhope finished a three-game sweep of rival Foley with a doubleheader sweep on Thursday.

The Pirates (25-11) clinched the Class 7A, Area 2 title with the wins.

In Game 1, Rock Gearhart was 3-for-3, Bryson Martin was 2-for-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored and Blake Westry drove in 2 runs. Harrison Cook scattered 4 hits and allowed an earned run in 3.1 innings to get the win.

In Game 2, Dixon Davis was 3-for-4 and drove in 3 runs and Miles Drew Johnson struck out 11 in a 5-inning no-hitter. Harrison Cook was 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs. Nolan Phillips homered.

Mary G. Montgomery 7, Alma Bryant 3

The Vikings scored all 7 runs after the third inning. Justin Freind drove in 3 runs for MGM and DJ Broughton drove in 2 runs. Everett Coggin had a pair of hits.

Cody Strickhausen picked up the win, scattering 5 hits and allowing 2 runs in 6.2 innings. He struck out 5. Slade Turner got the final out.

MGM improved to 21-10. The Vikings and Hurricanes play again this afternoon.

Central-Phenix City 4, Smiths Station 3

The fifth-ranked Red Devils won their fourth straight Class 7A, Area 4 title with a sweep of Smith’s Station.

Central (33-3) finished off the sweep Thursday, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh to get the win. Cason Page’s bunt single scored the tying run and Brewer Woody scored on a wild pitch for the winner.

Bradley Rothrock got the win with 1.1 innings of shutout relief.

Sam Brown homered for the Red Devils. Emory Yohn and Woody each had 2 hits.

Brandon McCraine hit a pair of homers for the Panthers.

Montgomery Academy 12, Highland Home 2

The Eagles wrapped up their season with the home win on Monday, finishing with an 11-15 mark.

Montgomery Academy scored 2 runs in the first inning, 5 in the second, 2 in the third and 3 in the fifth. The Eagles had 10 hits, led by Rick McBride who was 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Parker Cook had a 2-run home run.

Will Hardin and Oscar Fiore both had hits with 2 RBIs for the Eagles. Andrew Hosein had an RBI double and Luke Jones drove in a run. John Allen Jones and Reid McBride also had hits.

Hosein picked up the win, giving up 2 runs – 1 earned – on 4 hits with 2 strikeouts in 3 innings. Fiore gave up a hit and struck out 3 in 1.1 scoreless innings. Luke Jones got the final 2 outs with strikeouts.

The eighth-ranked Rebels notched their second Class 7A, Area 5 shutout of the week with the win at home on Wednesday.

Alec “Yaya” Paraiso rolled up 4 goals for Vestavia Hills.

On Tuesday, the Rebels beat Thompson 5-0 in another home match. Paraiso and Reid Laughlin had 2 goals apiece.

Paraiso has 25 goals this season and Laughlin has 20.

Vestavia Hills is 16-5-2 on the year and 6-0 in area play. The Rebels host Class 5A No. 1 Southside-Gadsden (21-1-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m. Vestavia will host Chelsea in the first round of the playoffs on April 29.

Chelsea 5, McAdory 0

The Class 7A No. 2 Hornets shut out McAdory on Senior Night on Monday to improve to 16-3-1 on the year.

Chelsea got goals from Brandon Cruz, Max Wever, Javi Rivera-Miranda, Kaleb Bass and Nick Fogle. Rivera-Miranda had 2 assists and Luke Miller had 1.

The Hornets are scheduled to play at Springville at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Prattville Christian 2, Chilton County 1

The Panthers won their second straight to improve to 4-9 on the year with the victory over Chilton County on Tuesday. Cade Segars scored both of the winners’ goals. Brady Roberson had an assist for PCA. Spencer Perkins recorded the win in goal.

On Monday, PCA edged Percy Julian 7-6 in the high-scoring affair on the road. Segars poured in 6 goals for the Panthers and Roberson added another.

Prattville Christian hosts Holy Spirit in a Class 1A/3A, Area 4 match on Friday at 6 p.m.

Montgomery Academy 1, Auburn 0

The Eagles edged Auburn on the road on Tuesday. Tanner Bartgis scored the lone goal of the match off an assist from Ethan Yi, as Yi headed a free kick out of the box 20 minutes into the second half.

Keeper Hampton Welch recorded the clean sheet for Montgomery Academy.

Spanish Fort, Trinity advance from Section 2 tourney

Spanish Fort won the Class 6A, Section 2 tournament on Tuesday in Mobile, finishing with 40 points with Trinity taking second with 37. The two teams will advance 6A state tournament, also in Mobile, that begins on Monday.

Pike Road finished third in the Section with 28 points, followed by Robertsdale with 17 and Baldwin County with 4.

Trinity’s Samuel Treadwell won the No. 1 singles title and his brother, James Treadwell, won the No. 2 championship. The Wildcats’ Sawyer Speagle won the No. 6 title and Charles Franklin was No. 5 singles runner-up.

Samuel and James Treadwell won the No. 1 doubles crown. Charlie Franklin and Speagle were runners-up in No. 3 doubles.

James Treadwell completed his fifth straight regular season with an undefeated singles record. He is 43-0 in singles and doubles this season. Samuel Treadwell is 39-4 in singles for the season. The Treadwells were unbeaten in doubles for the second consecutive season and have had one loss in the past three regular seasons.

Chelsea wins Shelby County Championship

Chelsea topped Oak Mountain 177-125 to win the Shelby County Championship at Pelham High on Wednesday.

Pelham and Thompson tied for third with 114 points, followed by Briarwood Christian (54), Helena (50), Vincent (21), Calera (17), Westminster-Oak Mountain (13) and Shelby County (10).

Eryk Brown of Chelsea won the 100- and 200-meter dashes in 10.63 and 21.44, respectively. John Shoemaker of Oak Mountain won the 800- and 1600-meter runs in 1:58.00 and 4:17.56. Bradley Franklin of Thompson won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles in 13.98 and 37.63, respectively.

Oak Mountain’s Chase Lovell won the 100- and 200-meter dash ambulatory events with a 19.59 in the 100 and 49.28 in the 200. Chelsea swept the top three spots in the 3200-meter run with Parker Campbell taking first in 9:41.70, followed by Hudson Williams (9:47.75) and Conner Campbell (9:53.45).

Holly Pond captures Cullman County Championship

Holly Pond won the Cullman County Championship on Monday at Dafford-Smith Stadium at Fairview. The Broncos recorded 160 points to top Cold Springs 160-135. Fairview was third with 95 points.

West Point was fourth with 83 points, followed by Good Hope (82), Hanceville (80.5), Vinemont (58.5) and Harmony School (8).

Cold Springs standout Ethan Edgeworth, a University of Tennessee signee, won the 800-meter run in 2:03.17, the 1600-meter run in 4:27.26 and the 3200-meter run in 10:00.10.

Emery Barnett of Holly Pond won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles in 17.36 and 42.51, respectively. Daniel Figueroa of Holly Pond won the ambulatory discus throw (57-01), the ambulatory javelin throw (81-10), the 100-meter dash ambulatory (16.17) and the 200-meter dash ambulatory (32.09).
