Performances and presenters are starting to be unveiled for the 94th Academy Awards, which will be cohosted by Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes and produced by Will Packer and Shayla Cowan. Oscars 2022 presenters include Lady Gaga, Simu Liu, and Samuel L. Jackson, among others. Now, the Academy has announced some of the musicians joining Hollywood’s biggest night.
Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, and Finneas, who are all nominated as the writers of the songs “Be Alive” from King Richard and “No Time to Die” from No Time to Die, respectively, will all perform their nominated songs. In addition, Sebastián Yatra will perform “Dos Oruguitas,” the Encanto song for which Lin-Manuel Miranda is nominated, and Reba McEntire will perform nominee Diane Warren’s “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days. The Academy press release notes that Belfast nominee Van Morrison won’t be available to perform his song “Down to Joy” due to his tour schedule, and he does have two concerts scheduled in Spain in the days following the Oscar ceremony. But as a vocal Covid vaccine skeptic, Morrison might have faced an unfriendly crowd inside the Dolby Theatre anyway.
The telecast has already announced a “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” performance and tributes to The Godfather and James Bond, as both franchises celebrate anniversaries. This year’s Oscars will air live from the Dolby Theatre on ABC on March 27 at 8 p.m. E.T./5 p.m. P.T. As previously reported, the show will require all attendees in the audience to show proof of vaccination and at least two negative PCR tests. Performers and presenters, however, will only need to undergo testing before participating in the show.
Below is a list of the stars set to take the stage on Oscars night:
Adam Blackstone
Tasked with leading this year’s in-house band, Blackstone is an Emmy-nominated music director who has previously worked on the 2017 and 2018 Oscars, as well as Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show.
